Ok, time to start?!?…

A little bit of history:

This website was initiated 3 or 4 years ago with the objective of providing Lebanese citizens or Lebanon residents with choices as to their consumer needs.  The primary focus was on travel needs, and for that purpose, an initial engine was developed, allowing persons to look for travel destinations (travel initiating from Beirut), and then compare travel agencies offers for the chosen destination, including accommodations and services.

For many reasons however, and mainly for lack of time, I didn’t follow through, and what began as a project remained a project or plan.

Now 3 or 4 years later, I have upgraded that project, and put it back on track.  The new objective is to offer a portal for Lebanese citizens or residents for the following:

Lebanese Shopping Comparison Engine

… for all kinds of commodities (including Travel):  Users will be able to compare the offers of various providers for many common products or services, including but not limited to the following:

  • Travel
  • Shopping Baskets
  • Computers and Laptops / Technology
  • Home Equipment
  • Cars
  • etc.

Lebanon Special Offers Corner

… where only the special offers on all kinds of commodities will be posted.  This is not meant to be similar to sites like ewaseet or mazad where everybody posts everything.  A special offer on any new item is something priced at least 25% below the common sales price of the new item, and a special offer on any used item is something priced at most 50% of the price of the original new item.

… where it will become a necessity for the blog readers to denounce bad practices and allow other readers to be informed of what is happening around.

The above items will be developed little by little, because for the time being, I am only the person working on them, and I have limited time.  The objective of the site is not profit, but to be a transparent service and information provider for the Lebanese or Lebanon Resident Consumer, and to act as an engine for Lebanon overall improvement, and an improvement for the life of the Lebanese citizens or residents.

Still, I sincerely hope that this wouldn’t affect the quality of the information and services that will be provided, because usually what starts as something caritative, and / or for the good of others, doesn’t involve for lack of creators involvement and interest.  I welcome all suggestions and all help from anyone interested in supporting this movement.
